When asked as to what would be his priorities as Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has fulfilled the demand to appoint an independent Home Minister, he said, "We will soon make a policy in consultation with Itanagar MLA, DGP,.. Commissioner, councillors and civil societies, particularly committees of the traders, colonies and NGOs, to stop crime,” said Byaling.

"I plan to install CCTV cameras at all vulnerable points in the Capital Complex and in each gate to be set up in all colonies for which I shall seek the help of corporate bodies, project implementers, big business houses and civilians," he added.

On being pointed out that the youth were victims of reckless bike driving, hundreds of bikes were lifted from the Capital Complex since December, there were numerous vehicles plying without number plates and use of number plates similar to government vehicles, the Home Minister said that the new policy would make number plates, license for drivers, use of helmets, strict adherence to traffic rules and speed limit mandatory to check accidents.

“I shall be holding meeting with all sections of the society to seek their opinion for incorporating in the policy,” he said and made a fervent appeal to the civil society for cooperation.

Commenting on the inter-state boundary row, he said that the solution would depend on the report of the Supreme Court-constituted Local Boundary Commission.
