Acting on a PIL filed by the NGO 'Banderdewa Circle Intellectual Forum,’ the three-member committee led by retired Justice AC Upadhayay, has been formed recently to go into the merit of the state government’s decision to shift the site of the proposed airport from Karsingsa to Hollongi.

In a release in the state capital, the Forum alleged that high profile names appeared on the compensation list for the Hollongi site, which ‘is a refugee notified area.’

It also alleged that an area measuring 44,245 sq metre in the new site was not reflected in the compensation list and urged the committee to find out who actually owned the area.

The forum further alleged that land acquisition process was carried out in Hollongi even though the land belonged to the government.
