“Development is only possible when people work as a team to bring speedy development and create common assets in the area,” he told a public meeting at Mariyang in Upper Siang district during his two-day visit to the district.
Stating that road communication is the pillar of all developments, Ering said that BRO has been entrusted with the formation cutting of the proposed road from Damro to Maktin-Siam which would connect Dibang Valley and Lower Dibang Valley districts.
BRO has already started the survey work of the proposed road.
Ering said that he had got the sanction of Rs 25 crore under Non-lapsable Central Pool of Resources from the Centre for construction of a major road from Geku to Mariyang, the two main towns of Mariyang-Geku sub-division.
He also announced a sanction of Rs 50 lakh for construction of a Damey Musup (big dormitory) at Damro village.
Ering sought to clarify doubts on his previously announced schemes and appealed to the locals to have patience.
Responding to a public memorandum, Ering said that he would appeal to Chief Minister Nabam Tuki for early notification of ADC (independent) headquarters at Mariyang.
