New Delhi: Doctors at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Tuesday said the condition of volleyball player Arunima Sinha, who lost her leg after being thrown out from a running train near Bareilly last week, is stable. Meanwhile, Dr Rajeev Sagar, a psychologist assessed her mental state and gave the national player some tips to overcome the tragedy.

"She is absolutely stable now. The urinal tube has been removed on Wednesday. For some time she could sit on her own," said Dr. Vijay Sharma, a specialist at AIIMS.

“We opened the dressing and thoroughly 'debrided' that. We will do further dressing and debridement on Thursday. Seeing her speedy recovery, she just needs one or two 'debridement' before we totally close it on Saturday," Dr. Vijay Sharma added.

The only concern is the infection in her limb which is getting reduced now, the doctor said.

“I don’t think she needs any psychologist. She has great confidence. Meanwhile, all steps are being taken for better treatment,” says Dr Vijay Sharma.
