Lucknow: The faux pas in investigations of Uttar Pradesh Police have often led the state to a humiliating situation. The botched up police investigation in the sensational Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) murder cases here is likely to raise several fingers at the probe done by the men-in-khaki.

Rolling back on its previous stand, UP Police has given a clean chit to the four persons including mafia don Abhay Singh arrested in the murder of Dr Vinod Kumar Arya. Ironically, police have come up with a new theory that five arrested on charges of murdering Dr B P Singh were also responsible for Dr Arya’s killing.

Both Dr Arya and Dr Singh were CMOs in the Family Welfare department and they were assassinated on October 27, 2010 and April 2, 2011, respectively.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Brijlal, Special Police Director General told the reporters, “In Dr Arya murder case, the police has freed Abhay Singh, Ajay Kumar Mishra, Sumit Dixit and Amit Dixit. A fresh chargesheet would be submitted in the court against the five arrested in Dr Singh murder case including Anand Tiwari, Vinod Sharma, Ramkrishna Verma and Vijay Dubey. “

He told, “As Sudhakar Pandey is absconding in Dr Singh murder case we will file a chargesheet against him after his arrest.”

The next hearing of the case is scheduled on July 19.

For the record, one of the accused Dr YK Sachan, Deputy CMO was allegedly murdered inside the jail premises. The CBI is carrying out the investigations in Dr Sachan murder case.
