Golaghat (Assam): Seven persons, including a child, were killed and 30 others were injured when a tourist bus caught fire immediately after it rammed into a trailer truck on National Highway 37 in Golaghat district of Assam on Monday morning. 

The bus was on way from Tinsukia to Guwahati when it collided with the truck carrying four-wheelers and coming from the opposite direction at Basagaon near Kaziranga National Park, police said.

The bus caught fire immediately and four persons died on the spot. The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals. The identity of the dead and the injured persons were yet to be ascertained.
The National Highway 37 remained blocked for some time after the accident but traffic had now resumed on that stretch.
