Assam: Politics in the North-Eastern state of Assam has become hot over the violence that is continuing in the state for the last seven days. Anguished over this fact, people of the state have started putting up their reaction on the social networking site, Face book and are pointing fingers towards the Centre for the incidents in the state.

A few people even wrote that at a time when the entire Assam was burning in the inferno caused by ethnic violence, newly appointed President Pranab Mukherjee was receiving the salute of 21 gun-shots at Rajpath in New Delhi.

Accusing the Centre for showing utter negligence to the North-Eastern states, people have reacted that there had been negligible development in the state under the Congress regime. They are not feeling upfront with other states of the country giving rise to dissatisfaction with the Centre. Moreover, the condition of people from the minority class is worse in the state.

BJP fires salvo on the Centre

While terming the Assam violence as communal, Rajiv Pratap Rudy spokesperson, BJP sought clarification from the Prime Minister over the incident. Since the Prime Minister is also an MP from Assam; he would have to give clarification as to why the Centre is quiet on the issue when hundreds of people have been marooned so far in the trouble-torn state.

Meanwhile, a BJP delegation is touring the state to probe violence in the state while Vijay Goel, General Secretary of the party and also a member of the delegation has related the entire incident to infiltration continuing from across the border.

How violence erupted in the state

The incident which was ignited by attack on two student leaders from the minority community a few days ago led to violence in Kokrajhar district and it has spread further to Chirag and Dhubri districts of the state.

Chief Executive Bodo territorial Council (BTC), Hagrama Mohilary has put the blame on the state for failing to provide security forces on time which aggravated the situation.

Remarkably, Mohilary has requested to deploy adequate number of security forces in BTC area to avoid any untoward incident.
