Patna: The budget session of Bihar state legislature will commence from February 18 next and the state government will president the budget for 2013-14 on February 21 next, an official said on Tuesday.
    
The decision in this regard was taken at a cabinet meeting presided over by the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the Additional Secretary (Cabinet Coordination and Secretariat) Vinod Prasad Singh told reporters.
    
The Governor Devanand Konwar will address the joint sitting of the members of the two houses of the state legislature on February 18 next, he said. The budget session will have 29 sittings between February 18 and April 3, 2013, Singh said.
    
Among other important cabinet decisions, the state government sanctioned a proposal for construction of approach roads in 54,103 tolas with population upto 250 people at an estimated cost of Rs 26,535 crores under the Mukhya Mantri Gram Sampark Yojana (MMGSY), the Additional Secretary (Cabinet Coordination and Secretariat) said.

Altogether 37,908 kms road will be constructed over the next five next under the MMGSY which commenced this year, he said, adding that till date 54,488 tolas have been connected with approach roads out of 1,09,591 tolas under the scheme.
