Greater Noida: Political parties contemplating to adopt illegal measures to woo voters in the upcoming Assembly elections need to be extra careful this time.

Waking up to the reality of adoption foul play in elections, the Election Commission has decided to keep a tab on illegal practices during the polls by deploying a secret team in every village.

The secret team will monitor all the activities happening in and around the villages to ensure fair and fair polls.

The EC has decided to include villagers of good conduct in the team and the enrolment process has already started in this regard. Five villagers will be selected from each village to carry out this operation.
On spotting any illegal practice such as candidates luring the voters, the team members will directly report the incident to the Commission.

Any violation of the model of code of conduct will be reported to the concerned district Election Officer as well as to the flying squad following which the squad will reach the spot immediately and look into the matter.

The Election Commission has made it clear that scribbling on the walls for seeking votes or any New Year regards by the party candidates will also be considered a clear violation of the model of code of conduct. Any candidate found doing so might have to give up his nomination in the elections. All the parties and candidates have been entitled with a week’s time to remove all the existing posters and advertisement notices from the walls.
