Puducherry, Feb 05(Agencies): The opposition AIADMK has asked Union Home Minister P Chidambaram to enlist the views of the opposition to assess quality of implementation of schemes by the Puducherry government before he takes up its review during his visit to Puducherry on Sunday.
AIADMK Puducherry unit Secretary A.Anbalagan,MLA told reporters here on Saturday that it was indeed a good augury that a Home Minister should camp in Puducherry, a Union Territory functioning under the direct supervision of the Home Ministry and review the implementation of the schemes.

Anbalagan said that Chidambaram has scheduled to hold a review meeting here on Saturday .

It was his third exercise after the one held in Puducherry in April last year and subsequently in Karaikal.

But prior to his deliberations with the officials and ministers,Chidambaram should hold a session with the opposition so that he would know the actual ground reality,he said.

Several schemes which were sanctioned were being implemented at a snail`s pace here, he alleged.

There were also instance of schemes not approved by the Centre being sought to
be implemented by the territorial government involving hefty expenditure, he charged.
