New Delhi: Giving a temporary relief to thousands of all India services working in the state of Uttar Pradesh, the Supreme Court on Tuesday stayed the Allahabad High Court order about their detailed assets.

The SC stayed the order of the Allahabad HC after going through the UP government's Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed on Tuesday before it.

The Apex Court also issued notice to the NGO, Lok Prahari, who has filed a petition before Allahabad High Court and asked it to reply within 8 weeks.

Earlier on May 10, the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court had directed the central and the state governments to file affidavits showing the cadre strength of officers of all India services working in UP, maximum period of their stay at places of postings in the last three years.

The HC also asked about the details of properties possessed by them and their family members before entering into service. It also wanted to know from the state government about the number of criminal cases and civil cases including those filed under Prevention of Corruption Act and departmental proceedings pending against them.
