Lucknow: Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) has prepared 15-point economic agenda to be included b ypolitical parties in their manifesto for the development of Uttar Pradesh. By issuing these agendas the highest industry body in the country claimed that it can raise the economic growth by 10 percent in Uttar Pradesh.

Releasing the agenda in a function, ASSOCHAM General Secretary DS Rawat said that development of sectors like fertlisers, vehicles, cloth, leather, health care, pharmaceutical, technology, real estate and environment can bring drastic change in the economy.

In order to raise the pace of economic development in Uttar Pradesh, it is essential to generate employment. For this, the Centre is batting for Public Private Partnership (PPP) in agriculture and industrial sector.

Laying thrust on contract farming, Rawat said, “Contract farming should be promoted to attract private firms towards agriculture. Nearly 80 percent of the population is dependent on agriculture for livelihood, so farm sector needs to be revamped.”

The other sectors included in the agenda were electricity, solar energy, biogas and extraction of energy through other natural resources.
