"I think it is extremely unfortunate, it is reprehensible. But I would like to appeal to everybody not to play partisan politics with it," Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari said.

"The UPA Government has always been forthcoming on questions of national security. Whenever there has been an aberration, we have dealt with it firmly and strongly. Our track record bears testimony to it," he said.

He further said that whenever such an incident takes place, the Ministry of Defence should be allowed to react appropriately. "Parliament is in session, they would come out with a structured response," Tewari said.

Pak attack will affect normalization of ties: Farooq

Union Minister Farooq Abdullah said the attack will affect the normalization of ties between the two nations. "It will affect the normalization of relationship," Abdullah said.

He also said such incidents would affect the dialogue process. "Pakistan has to stop the killings of Indian soldiers. The dialogue process cannot resume if such a situation continues,” he said.
