Aurangabad: An SBI ATM located at Ramesh Chowk dispatched fake currency worth Rs 10, 000 here on Monday. After protest against the incident, the ATM officers came into action and replaced fake currency notes and tried to cover up the whole incident.

Sharavan Kumar, resident of Poraha village on Monday told reporters that as he inserted his card in ATM machine, he had transacted 11 fake notes of 500.

Later, another customer from chattarpur got 9 notes of Rs 500. Once they realised the currency is fake, the customers standing in a queue outside the ATM machine contacted the ATM officers and make them aware of the whole incident. Following which officers seized the disputed currency and gave another notes to them.

When contacted to SBI Chief Manager, O P Singh on this matter, he stated that the currency was not fake but old.
