Aurangabad: Aurangabad Bandh called by RJD and LJP on Tuesday evoked partial response with major shops and business establishments downing their shutters. The bandh crippled the normal life and disrupted the public transport system. Except for a few private vehicles, all other vehicles remained off the roads.

RJD former union minister Kanti Singh, former minister Suresh Paswan, former MLA Satyanarayan Singh, RJD’s Aurangabad district in charge Balram Mishra, Suresh Mahato, Aastik Sharma, Vinay Prasad, Kaileshwar Yadav and Subodh Kumar Singh staged protest on NH-2 to make the bandh successful. The bandh supporters brought out processions in the Aurangabad town to force closure of shops and business establishments. Protestors also blocked the GT road and disrupted movement of vehicles. Around 70 bandh supporters of RJD and LJP were taken into custody for trying to enforce the bandh.

The bandh was called to protest against killing of a village head Devendra Kumar Singh alias Chotu under Haspura police station in Aurangabad district on April 29.
