New Delhi: In a remarkable development in commercial vehicle market, Man Force Trucks launched Man Airobus, a first venture into bus segment, on the third day of the 11th Auto Expo here on Saturday. The company has pegged its price at Rs 60 lakh.

While talking to Dainik Jagran, Man Force Trucks Managing Director Mr Sudhir Mehta said, “After carrying an extensive study on the Indian environment and the bus market, the company has launched the new product. It will produce 12-15 percent less pollution as compared to the general categories of bus. We are expecting the product will do well and have planned to sell around 250 units by the year end.”

“Buses with rear engines are famous in the Indian market. But they are costlier. We have focused on developing an advanced technique for buses with front engines that will provide similar facilities to the commuters at a lower price,” he added.

The new product is a 45 seater inter-city air-conditioned coach powered by 220hp diesel engine. It will have more luggage space than other buses. It is planned to be used for intercity transportation.

Toyota launches new hybrid sedan ‘Prius’

Japanese car maker Toyota on Saturday launched a new version of its hybrid sedan Prius in India that is priced between Rs 27.39 lakh and Rs 29.41 lakh. The new Prius will have solar ventilation system in addition to the exiting battery technology.

Toyota Kirlosakar Motor (TKM) Deputy Managing Director (Commercial) Shekar Viswanathan said, “The hybrid car industry is an emerging market in India. We hope to see more Prius customers and contribute to the growing market.”

Notably, since 1997, the company has sold 24 lakh units across the world.

Firefox launches Rs 4.25 lakh bicycle

On the third day of Auto Expo 2012, the bicycle-maker Firefox Bikes launched one of the costliest cycles in the country, priced at Rs 4.25 lakh.

The full carbon frame bicycle ‘TREK ELITE 9.9 SSL’, weighs only 10 kg.

The premium cycle comes with features like hydraulic shock-absorbers, high performance brakes and 30 speed variations. Moreover, it will give an enthralling experience to the bike lovers in riding in the terrain regions.

Movable seats for Corolla Altis

The car maker Toyota has introduced specially designed movable seats for its popular brand Corolla Altis. It is a customized swivel seat aimed to provide transport solutions especially for the mobility impaired.
