Pune: Auto major BMW India on Thursday said it was considering entering the used car business in October and also expanding its dealer network in the country.

The company will spread its network by appointing dealers in small cities very soon, Andreas Schaaf, President of BMW India, said.

The luxury carmaker is also considering stepping in the used car business in October, he said.

Schaaf was speaking to reporters after inauguration of a BMW showroom here.

Stating that big cities will play an important role in premium car market, he said, "Premium car business is a network business. BMW is very keen to choose right partners for network development. We are planning to give at least 40 dealerships by the end of 2012."

Rejecting any possibility on giving discounts on group bookings, he said such a move will erode BMW brand. "We never think on that type of proposal.”
