Khan had said the incident could be a 'political conspiracy' against the state government since the elections were near. The court said statements issued by political leaders like Azam Khan create mistrust in investigation and the entire system.

To recall, the mother-daughter duo that was gang-raped and robbed near highway in Bulandshahr had moved the Supreme Court seeking transfer of the case to Delhi besides registration of FIR against Azam Khan for his remarks as well as the erring policemen.

The incident took place on the night of July 29 when a group of highway robbers stopped the car of a Noida-based family and sexually assaulted the woman and her minor daughter after dragging them out of the vehicle.

The Allahabad High Court recently ordered a CBI probe into the incident besides deciding to monitor the investigation. In the plea filed in the Supreme through lawyer Kislay Pandey, the woman's husband has sought an order for "transfer of the trial of the present case to Delhi from Bulandshahr in the interest of justice".
