Haridwar:  Baba Ramdev has exhorted bureaucrats, ministers and people holding constitutional posts to declare their assets online. Citing the big currency notes as the main reason behind corruption and black money, he plans to put a pressure on the government to pass a proposal on the lines of United Nations Convention against Corruption.

In case the government fails to pass the proposal, Ramdev said, he would launch a massive movement in the whole nation which would be supported by Morari Bapu.

Addressing mediapersons at Patanjali Yogpeeth here on Tuesday, Baba Ramdev said that some people want to see him behind bars, but it will never become a reality. He said that Jan Lokpal Bill is definitely the first step to eradicate corruption but there would be more challenges ahead.
According to him, if money circulation in the country is Rs 10 lakh crore then the nation’s economy should stand somewhere around Rs 400 lakh crore. The money is deposited in foreign accounts, he added.

To prevent this black money from going abroad, he urged the government to formulate a policy, fixing a three months period, asking those who have accounts in foreign banks to declare them, otherwise it would be declared a national asset.

Ramdev, however, refused to comment on the controversy over drafting committee and Kiran Bedi.

He also expressed concern over the caste row over Bhagat Singh in the Congress mouthpiece and asserted that a martyr should always be above caste.
