Haridwar: Differing from the stand of Anna Hazare and his team, yoga guru Baba Ramdev has said that enacting a Jan Lokpal Bill would not be a complete solution to wipe out corruption in entirety from the country.

Baba Ramdev also introduced a 7-point agenda titled ‘System Transformation and Total Revolution’ to get rid of the corruption.

Speaking at his Patanjali Yogpeeth on Tuesday, Ramdev advocated for direct election of Prime Minister.

Without naming anyone directly, Baba Ramdev said, “Lokpal or Jan Lokpal can curb corruption to a limit, but cannot eradicate it from roots.”

The 7-point agenda includes justice for villagers, parallel education system, similar medical facilities for all and sundry and political reforms.

“By following this agenda there would be no need of any Lokpal or Jan Lokpal as it would solve all the problems,” Ramdev said about his 7-point agenda.

Ramdev asserted that multi-level tax system is one of the major reasons for rampant corruption in the country and advocated for two percent transaction tax.
According to him the transaction tax would not only curb corruption, poverty, black money and inflation, but would also encourage NRIs to invest their money in India.

Taking credit for success of the ongoing crusade of Anna Hazare, Ramdev said the Central government would have crushed this protest as well if his supporters had not held nationwide protests against the June 4 crackdown.
