New Delhi: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal are in the hit list of terrorist outfit Babbar Khalsa. The terror organization, which was on the forefront of the Khalistan movement in 1984, has reportedly hatched a plot against these leaders to resurrect the terrorism in the state.

After getting secret inputs in this connection, Central Intelligence Bureau (IB) has reportedly intimated all the police chiefs of all the states including Punjab.

A Joint Director of the IB has issued a letter to the Director General of Police of all the states on March 14. The official has asked the senior officials to keep a strict vigil during the tour of these two leaders.

According to a senior official, Pakistan’s ISI is trying to resurrect the Khalistan movement in Punjab. The organisation is pressurising Babbar Khalsa and other terror outfits to target big leaders of Punjab, the official added.

The Punjab police have already alerted all the provinces after receiving the IB report, which stated that the attacks can take place either in Punjab or in any other state.

Under such circumstances, the security of Punjab CM has already been assigned to the National Security Guards (NSG). However, Deputy CM is yet to get this facility.
