Patiala: With steel makers threatening to shift out of the state, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Wednesday asked them to meet him to redress their grievances.

"If any one has any problem he can meet me any time as he is available to them," Badal told reporters on Wednesday here when he was asked secondary steel-makers had threatened to shift out of Punjab.

Badal said the state government had created an investor- friendly atmosphere here and there was cheap power, good infrastructure and abundant skilled manpower.

The President of the Mandi Gobindgarh Furnace Association Mohinder Gupta on Monday said they were unhappy over high power rates, lack of tax benefits and introduction of an e-TRIP system and they would shift their base to other States if the Punjab government did not pay attention to their problems.

He had said over 200 furnaces and 300 steel rolling mills in the State may shift base to Gujarat or Raipur in Chhattisgarh, if the Punjab government did not pay attention to their demands.
