Muktsar (Punjab): Describing Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Amarinder Singh as a ‘dictator’, former BJP chief Rajnath Singh on Saturday said that he (Amarinder) has no prospects of becoming Chief Minister. He said Prakash Singh Badal is a trusted politician and most qualified to become chief minister.

“Prakash Singh Badal is well qualified Chief Minister in the country. It is a matter of great pleasure that he is the Chief Minister of Punjab,” Singh said.

Singh further appealed the gathering to vote for SAD-BJP alliance to bring it in power once again.

Singh also blamed the UPA at the centre over its failure to contain the rate of inflation. He accused the Manmohan Singh government of adopting wrong policies.

“Badal has taken effective steps to that increases the agricultural productivity and lead to improve incomes of farmers’. Whenever NDA will come to power, loans will sanctioned to farmers’ at a rate of three percent interest only. We will also wave off the loan interest for one year,” Singh promised.

He also praised the SAD-BJP manifesto and said, “Badal will keep his promise.”

“Punjab is the only state where farmers’ are getting electricity and food free of cost. Girls are getting bicycles. Badal will also give PF, medical insurance to farmers’. The SAD-BJP government has started several power projects in the state,” Singh said.

He also counted the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government’s achievements.

The three week-long campaigning for 117-seat Punjab Assembly ended on Saturday with ruling SAD-BJP alliance and opposition Congress putting their best foot forward to wrest power in the January 30 polls.
