“We demand time-bound inquiry into the incident and the culprits should be brought to book immediately. We want justice for the victim’s family,” he told the media here.

Taking potshots at the ruling Samajwadi Party government, Paswan said: “If you are not being able to provide right to life, what kind of government this is. Security to life is the basic right of every citizen and every government has to provide that."

Accompanied by his son Chirag Paswan, the LJP supremo met the family members of the two girls, who were gang-raped and killed last week in Katra village of Badaun distinct.

“We met the family members of the victims. The incident is very gruesome and people are afraid here. A similar incident had taken place here last year too,” Paswan said.

Earlier on Sunday, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati and Congress leader Meira Kumar had met the family members of the victims.

Mayawati had announced a compensation of Rs five lakh each to the victims' kin from the party fund. She has also reiterated her demand to dismiss the Samajwadi Party government immediately and impose President’s rule in the state.

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi had earlier on Saturday visited the family members of the victims.

On Wednesday, two teenage sisters were allegedly gang-raped and murdered with their bodies found hanging from a tree in Katra village of the district. The two girls, who were cousins and aged 14 and 15 years, went missing from their house on Tuesday night.
