Kashyap had reached a career high of world number six last year but was witnessing slump in form which resulted in his slide in the world rankings. However, his impressive performance in last week's Swiss Open helped him gain vital points.

Meanwhile, first round exits at both All England Open and Swiss Open have led Kashyap's compatriot, Kidambi Srikanth, to slip two places to the 22nd spot.
    
In the women’s singles rankings, Indian female shuttlers, Saina Nehwal and P V Sindhu, managed to retain their eighth and ninth spots respectively.     

The Indian shuttlers, however, did not feature in the top-25 of men's, women's and mixed doubles rankings.
