Jaipur: Gujjar leader Kirori Singh Bainsla on Thursday asked Rajasthan government to decide in two weeks on five percent reservation to Gujjar, Gadia Luhar, Railka/Raibar and Banjara communities under special backward class (SBC) till May 2.

Bainsla, along with his supporters, staged a sit-in demonstration at the residence of state Energy Minister Jitendra Singh on Thursday and asked the government to resolve the issue.

"We want that the government settle the issue. We gave the government time till May 2, after which we will come back again and ask the minister about the action of government on the issue of 5 percent SBC reservation", Bainsala said.

Jitendra Singh belongs to Bainsla's community and had mediated between government and Gurjar community in the past. Bainsla asked the minister about the seriousness of the government about implementing the reservation promise.

"Nothing has been done in last 15 months to fulfill our demands for reservation. We have come here to ask those who mediated between us and government to resolve the issue," he said.
