The Husqvarna is the popular Swedish street bike, road racing and off-road dirt bike manufacturing brand owned by the KTM, in which Bajaj Auto enjoys a  47 percent stake. The Indian launch of Husqvarna is scheduled to take place early next year in January 2017.

The Vitpilen 401 and the Svartpilen 401 are likely to be the first of the Husqvarna brand motorcycles to launch in India. They will also share the same platform as the 2017 KTM 390 Duke, with the same engines, and with similar chassis and frame, since there are some similarities between both,
in their silhouettes.

However, though based on the KTM platform and powerplants, slight design changes may be expected to customize the motorcycle to suit Indian tastes. The Bajaj Auto’s Chakan manufacturing facility will be manufacturing the Husqvarna range of motorcycles.

The sales of the Husqvarna brand motorcycles will take place through the

KTM dealerships, for the whole of India. The Indian-spec versions of both the Vitpilen 401 and the Svartpilen 401 will be unveiled at the 2016 EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan, Italy, in November this year. They will be sold in the premium motorcycle segment, placed slightly above the KTM 390 Duke. Reportedly, KTM has also been planning to launch 88 more dealerships in India, from where the Husqvarna motorcycles will be sold as well.
