While India and Bangladesh prepare for the Test match, there is another healthy but intense battle must be going on between two of the Indian off-spinners Harbhajan Singh and Ravichandran Ashwin.

Who will play the one-off Test, the comeback man Harbhajan or the current favourite Ashwin is talk of the town. However, there are few instances where India have fielded two off-spinners in the playing eleven.

Harbhajan and Ashwin played three Tests together in 2012-13 (one against England and two against Australia) after which Ashwin become more preferred bowler over Harbhajan as the Chennai lad scalped 20 wickets while the Punjab spinner managed to bag only seven in these three games.

Harbhajan has been selected on the basis of his form in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) where he did reasonably well for his franchise Mumbai Indians.

In recent tours, Ashwin has failed to made major impact on overseas pitches but his ability to bat at number seven has tilted the call in his favour. To perform on foreign soil and with Harbhajan back in the side will only add pressure on Ashwin to deliver.

Ashwin is a classical bowler who has lot of variations. On the other hand Harbhajan was at his best during the recently concluded IPL as he relies a lot on bounce and turn.

Cricket pitches in the Bangladesh are moreover like Indian pitches and if you compare the current form of both the spinners, surely Harbhajan will have an edge over Ashwin.
