Hyderabad: Bank of India (BoI) staff unions on Tuesday organised protests demanding amicable settlement of long-pending issues.

As part of a nationwide protest programme, called by Federation of Bank of India Staff Unions (FBISU), employees staged a day-long dharna (sit-in) in front of all zonal offices of the Government-run lender, a statement said here.

M V Raghava Sharma, General Secretary, FBISU, appealed to the bank management to discuss the issues with the unions and arrive at a negotiated settlement, the release added.

FBISU has listed a dozen demands, including recruitment of adequate number of clerks and absorption and regularisation of services of casual workers.

Sharma called upon the members to be prepared for a nationwide strike for the cause if necessary.
