"By the end of my first term we had become genuinely close, and I could not have more respect for her. She was a great Secretary of State," Obama said.

"I invited her. And we had a great time. She had that post-administration glow. You know, when folks leave the Whitehouse, like two weeks later they look great. But it was a wonderful conversation," he said.

65-year-old Clinton served as the Secretary of State for four years in the first term of Obama's administration. She was succeeded by John Kerry.
