Suarez and Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi scored twice each while Gerard Pique and Adriano also found the net in the Group E match yesterday night.

Edin Dzeko netted a consolation goal for the Italians in stoppage time. The Catalan giants have now advanced to the knockout stage of the competition.

"We know that every player has to fulfill their expectations. We played a perfect game, very complete and we didn't leave any space in midfield. In the first half we put the game away," Suarez was quoted as saying.

Messi played the full 90 minutes for the first time after returning from an injury and Suarez hoped that the return of the Argentine star will give a boost to their quest to defend the Champions League title.

"The people were waiting for Messi to return and we're all happy that he scored. Neymar, Messi and I are here for the good of the team, for the good of Barca. We don't think individually," the Uruguayan said.
