Sadhu, who is RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s brother-in-law, said that he will contest polls from Saran to challenge the candidates of mainstream political parties

"I will contest from Saran as an independent," said Sadhu, who was a powerful leader during the RJD rule in Bihar.

The RJD has fielded Rabri Devi from Saran, the seat from where Lalu won in 2009 general election. Lalu was forced to quit after he was convicted in multi-crore fodder scam.

Sadhu had quit RJD five years ago and joined the Congress. Later, he also quit the Congress.

The BJP has fielded Rajiv Pratap Rudy from Saran constituency.
