The television programme "Sairbeen" builds on the success of the flagship daily BBC Urdu radio programme, which is a household name in Pakistan.
The programme will begin airing on Pakistan's Express News channel from February 11.
The launch of the new TV programme with the same name will strengthen the BBC's offerings for audiences in Pakistan.
Sairbeen will showcase BBC Urdu talent and feature well-known BBC journalists working in Pakistan and across the world.
Working closely with Express News, BBC Urdu will share its journalistic expertise and also benefit from local news gathering operations.
BBC Urdu, which has been broadcasting to the region since 1940, provides audio, video, text and graphic content across several platforms, including MW, FM, mobile handheld devices and online via bbcurdu.com.
