New Delhi: Team Anna member Kiran Bedi has been selected as a Board member from the Asian region to the Board of World Federation Against Drugs.

Bedi has been elected unanimously to the Board during a meeting in Stockholm earlier this week as recognition of her work in the field of containing drug abuse through her NGO 'Navjyoti'.

The World Federation Against Drugs (WFAD), founded in 2009, is a multilateral community of NGOs and individuals. Founded in 2009, the aim of WFAD is to work for a drug-free world.

The members of the WFAD share a common concern that illicit drug use is undercutting traditional values and threatening the existence of stable families, communities, and government institutions throughout the world.
