Mayawati’s comment comes close on the heels of the crucial meeting between Samajwadi Party heavyweight Ramgopal Yadav and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhliesh Yadav to work out the ongoing tussle within the party. Ramgopal Yadav has placed confidence in Samajwadi Party’s top brass, saying that there is no crisis in the party.

Referring to Akhilesh Yadav’s ‘Bahri logh’ comment, Ramgopal Yadav said that there is a cabal of people which takes advantage of Netaji’s simplicity.

Commenting on the ongoing feud between Akhilesh Yadav and Shivpal Yadav, Ramgopal said, “There was a little misunderstanding, nothing else. I will meet UP CM, ask him what he meant about ‘bahri logh’".

On Wednesday, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav had to step in to check the growing rift within the ‘family’ and state government over a ‘power tussle’ between Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his uncle Shivpal Yadav - with crucial assembly elections slated for early next year.

What transpired between Mulayam and Shivpal was not immediately clear but it was evident that ‘Netaji’ had a tough task ahead to find an amicable solution to the apparent family feud. In Lucknow, Akhilesh tried to downplay the matter, saying his conflict with uncle Shivpal was a ‘sarkari ladai’ (government battle), not a family feud.
