Los Angeles: R&B star Beyonce's pregnancy is likely to cause a pause in her acting career because bosses of the upcoming 'A Star Is Born' are considering delaying the project.

Warner Bros Pictures hoped to begin filming as early as February 2012, but it has been reported that the studio "could push" the production due to the Grammy-winning songstress' pregnancy, said a report.

With the musical remake project being postponed, director Clint Eastwood is likely to have more time to look for a suitable male co-star to play opposite the wife of rapper Jay-Z.

Eastwood, who has been considering several A-listers including Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Bale and Will Smith to be paired with Beyonce, has not succeeded in sealing a deal yet.

'A Star Is Born' promises an updated version of a romantic relationship between an alcoholic star on his way out and a young female artist on the rise. The project has actually been developed for some time, but it fell apart before finally coming back together again earlier this year.

Beyonce announced her pregnancy during the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.
