Bhagwat may take a call on Gadkari issue

New Delhi: With RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat visiting the national capital on Saturday, political temperatures are expected to soar in Delhi. Though Bhagwat is here for some official work, it is being assumed that he may let out the suspense over BJP’s national president Nitin Gadkari.

It is to be noted that the RSS has already given its consent for Gadkari to continue as the BJP president for second consecutive term. But with several allegations being leveled against him, the RSS may contemplate a change in the leadership. Gadkari had recently been in the firing line from the Opposition and his own party members for his comparison of Dawood Ibrahim to Vivekananda. Earlier the RSS had asked Gadkari to come out clean on corruption charges leveled against him by IAC activist Arvind Kejriwal.

The RSS had opted not to meddle with the internal matters of the BJP and urged the saffron party to resolve the controversy themselves. However, with rising differences within the party over Nitin Gadkari, speculations are rife that Mohan Bhagwat may propose another name for party president. Bhagwat is also expected to meet senior leaders of the BJP during his visit.
