Jaipur: The attached property of Indra Bishnoi, one of the main accused in Bhanwari Devi murder case, is mortgaged with the State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur against the loan of over Rs 1 crore.

The bank on Tuesday moved a petition in the special CBI court challenging the attachment of mortgaged property of the absconding accused in the case.

Appearing for the bank , counsel Sunil Vyas,  said the special CBI court that the Saraswati Nagar based residence of Bishnoi is mortgaged with the bank and a sum of Rs 31 lakh still remains due.

He further said the court that the original documents have been submitted with the bank and hence, the attachment of property is not justified.

The property is worth nearly Rs 2.5 crore, as per the estimates of real estate analysts.

The bank in its petition sought the court to handover the property to the bank or handover the first part of the money that comes after the auction to the bank and further attach the property.

The court has deferred the hearing in the case till March 13.
