Jaipur: The miseries of former Rajasthan Minister Mahipal Maderna are likely to compound even further as the medical reports declared him fit on Thursday. A key suspect in the Bhanwari Devi kidnapping case, Maderna may be soon arrested by the CBI for further interrogiation.

Maderna, who appeared to have been evading the frequent CBI questioning and arrest following his alleged role in the abduction case, was declared fit in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi.

On the basis of AIIMS report, the CBI can now further grill Maderna and might also arrest him.

The medical board consisting of doctors from the MDM Hospital, Jodhpur, had submitted his medical report to AIIMS as the CBI wanted to validate whether the accused was actually sick enough to be excused from questioning. The three-member team was headed by cardiologist Sanjeev Sangavi included Dr Arvind Jain and Dr Naveen Kishori.

Maderna was admitted to MDM Hospital on Sunday after he was suspended by the Congress. He has, so far, managed to avoid possible arrest on health grounds.

However, the CBI team has so far quizzed several suspects including Maderna, his wife Lila, Malkhan Singh Bishnoi and others, but the team has failed to derive any concrete conclusion in the mysterious disappearance of auxiliary nurse Bhanwari Devi.
