Jaipur: Rajasthan Governor Shivraj V Patil on Friday issued requisite summons to sacked minister Mahipal Maderna and Congress MLA from Luni Malkhan Singh Bishnoi for the budget session of the Rajasthan Assembly, slated to commence from February 27.

Summons are sent to the MLAs directly, but since Maderna and Bishnoi are in custody it was sent to the CBI. Jail superintendent, AR Nijazi confirmed of having received the summons.
While Maderna was arrested on December 3, Malkhan was nabbed by the CBI on December 19 for their alleged involvement in the Bhanwari Devi murder case.

According to sources, both the leaders can’t attend the Budget session as they are under CBI custody and sending summons is just like a formality.

Similarly, another summon will be sent to the MLAs before the State Congress legislative party meet takes place.

According to sources, Mahipal Maderna and Malkhan Singh were being blackmailed by Bhanwari Devi who was allegedly having relations with them. Sources added that Bhanwari demanded Rs 50 lakh from Maderna with whom she was shown in a compromising position in a CD.
