Jaipur: The CBI court in Jodhpur on Friday refused to grant anticipatory bail to sacked Rajasthan Minister Mahipal Maderna and Congress MLA from Luni Malkhan Singh, accused in the Bhanwari Devi murder case.

While Maderna had sought for 60 days anticipatory bail to meet his ailing father and attend the Rajashthan Assembly, commencing from Monday, Malkhan had sought for 40 days release from the jail.

Meanwhile, the Rajasthan High Court on Thursday stayed the arrest warrant against Indira Bishnoi till March 5, a key accused in the case and sister of Malkhan. The court also said that if she doesn’t appear before the CBI, it would be consider as contempt of court and the arrest warrant will continue to exist.

According to sources, her counsel confirmed about her appearance before the court on March 5.
