Jaipur: Hearing the abduction case of Bhanwari Devi, the Rajasthan government had to face the extreme wrath of the High Court when a division bench comprising Justices Govind Mathur and NK Jain raised doubts on the intention of the Ashok Gehlot government in solving the case.

The bench clearly observed: “A woman is missing for a month, but the government is not concerned. We have never seen such a good-for-nothing government.”

Hearing the Habeas Corpus writ petition filed by Amarchand, husband of the missing nurse, Justice Govind Mathur blasted on the government Counsel, Pradhyuman Singh saying, “The progress report in the case is worthy of going in a dustbin. Why the missing lady has not been traced even after one month?”
The court expressed resentment against CBI’s letter to the government for demanding a building and vehicles for six months and directed the government Counsel to tell CBI to produce a report every alternate day until the lady is traced.

Meanwhile, the police investigations have revealed that Bhanwari Devi was allegedly beaten up and molested by Shahbuddin and Sohanlal in a Bolero SUV and was dumped under the back seat in an unconscious state.

On the direction of Sahiram Vishnoi, Shahabuddin planned the abduction and Sohan Lal persuaded Bhanwari to come to Bilara to pay for the car which she wanted to purchase.

The duo then beat her up and handed her over to another gang in an unconscious state. The Bolero was found on September 9 and was scanned by an FSL team for clues.

While Baldev has been sent to judicial custody till October 15, Sohan Lal as well is lodged in jail. However, primary accused Shahahbuddin and Sahiram Vishnoi are still absconding.

It is to be noted that after much delay the CBI is expected to reach Jodhpur by Wednesday.

It is being speculated that the Water Resources Minister Mahipal Maderna and Congress MP Malkhan Singh Vishnoi’s tiff with Bhanwari Devi on making the CD public led to her abduction.
