Jaipur: Attacking Congress government for the inaction in the Bhanwari Devi kidnapping case in which a Congress Minister has been booked, Smriti Irani, president of women’s wing of the BJP, on Friday put the National Commission for Women in the dock for its failure to take cognizance of the case.

Irani said that it was ironical that the NCW has failed to take action in the case despite the fact that it is being headed by a woman from Rajasthan.

Speaking to the media here, Irani said, “The silence of NCW in Bhanvari case is a clear indication that it is a pro-Congress commission. Women in those states where Congress is in power, one should not expect of any action for them by NCW.”

“After the Rajasthan High court slammed the Gehlot government for the slow probe pace in the kidnapping case, the party has no moral right to be in the government,” she added.

Slamming the Rajasthan government, the BJP Mahila Morcha president said, “The law and order situation can be easily assessed as the investigation agency and the CBI team in the state investigating the Bhanwari case is asking for its own security.”
