Jaipur: In a setback to the Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI), probing the Bhanwari Devi murder case, the Bishnoi community on Monday threatened to protest near the Rashtrapati Bhavan and the Prime Minister’s residence in New Delhi against the alleged harassment of the family of Indira Bishnoi, a key accused in the case.

Kuldeep Bishnoi, MP from Hissar, who had chaired Bishnoi’s mahapanchayat on Sunday in Jodhpur, said that final decision to protest in New Delhi against CBI will be taken soon.

Meanwhile, the forensic lab report examining Bhanwari’s bone, recovered by the CBI during a search operation near Jodhpur, on Monday revealed that the recovered bones are of pet animals and not of human.

However, the report also claimed that two bones are of a human skelton.

The CBI had earlier claimed to recover Bhanwari’s bones, mobile phone, earrings, a locket, a watch and bracelet during a search operation near Jodhpur.

The CBI court on Monday also refused to entertain Amri Devi plea, mother of arrested Congress MLA Malkhan Singh Bishnoi, in which she has accused the CBI of being partial in its investigation. According to Indira’s family members, the CBI had called Amri twice at the circuit house for interrogation after which she was admitted in ICU at a Jodhpur hospital.

The court said that the CBI has the right to call anyone for questioning in the case.

The Bishnoi community members, who protested under the banner of Kisan Kesri Sangharsh Samiti on Sunday, also demanded the probe to be handed over to some other agency.
