Jaipur: Expediting its probe into Bhanwari Devi case, the CBI on Sunday served notice to former BJP leader Shambhu Singh Khetasar, currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Palanpur, Gujarat.

Khetasar, contested as an independent candidate from the Osian constituency against sacked Rajasthan Minister Mahipal Maderna. The CBI had thrice summoned Khetasar in the past but he paid no heed to the summons.

The CBI on Sunday visited Khetasar’s residence and directed his relatives to ask him to visit the circuit house.

Khetasar was admitted in a hospital on Friday after his car met with an accident while he was on his way to Jaisalmer from Jodhpur.  However, the CBI suspected some foul play behind this as the report of accident was registered only on Saturday around 4:30 pm.

On the other hand, the CBI has also initiated the process for attaching the property of Indra Bishnoi, an accused in Bhanwari Devi murder case. The CBI has asked Municipal Corporation to furnish the details of properties registered on Indira’s name.

Jailed Congress MLA from Luni, Malkhan Singh's sister Indira Bishnoi is absconding since past three months. The CBI has also arrested Reshmaram, a government school teacher who was allegedly close to Indira Bishnoi. The CBI is likely to interrogate Reshmaram.
