Jaipur: The CBI court on Saturday ordered the Jodhpur Collector and the Tehsildar to attach Congress MLA Malkhan Singh’s sister Indira Bishnoi’s properties after her date of notice to surrender before the investigative agency expired on Friday.

Indira Bishnoi, absconding since past three months, is a key accused in the case. The CBI court on January 11 declared Indira as an absconder and issued an ultimatum for surrender before the CBI by February 10.

The CBI on Friday had moved an application in the court seeking attachment of her properties.

The CBI will soon start the process of the property attachment.

The CBI had also interrogated her family members several times at the circuit house. The investigative agency had also called her mother Amri Devi twice for questioning at the circuit house.

On the other hand, the Bishnoi community expressing displeasure with the CBI’s move to interrogate Indira’s family members repeatedly, has summoned a panchayat in Jodhpur on Sunday.

Congress MP from Bhiwani Kuldeep Bishnoi will also take part in the panchayat.

According to sources, sacked Rajasthan Minister Mahipal Maderna and Malkhan Singh were being blackmailed by Bhanwari Devi who was allegedly having relations with them. Sources added that Bhanwari demanded Rs 50 lakh from Maderna with whom she was shown in a compromising position in a CD.

While Maderna was arrested on December 3, Malkhan was nabbed by the police on December 19 for their alleged involvement in the case.
