Lucknow: In their effort to topple the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government in Uttar Pradesh, Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to take the maximum benefits of the Bhatta Parsaul issue.

Both the opposition parties in Uttar Pradesh are vying to make the Land Acquisition Act as a major political tool in the forthcoming assembly elections.

The BJP has concluded its ‘Kishan Bhachao Yatra’ by organizing panchayat in Bhatta village, while the Congress is also in no mood to miss the opportunity.

Congress has already announced that Rahul Gandhi’s mahapanchayat will be held in Bhatta Parsaul. In a counter attack mode, Chief Minister Mayawati has written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh requesting the implementation of new policy of state government in the Centre’s enterprises and undertakings.

The four day Kisan Bacho Yatra of BJP recently concluded in the Bhatta village. As BJP president Nitin Gadkari could not attend the party function in Bishrakh village, the final function of ‘Kisan Bacho Yatra’ was held in Bhatta village.

Later BJP stalwart Kalraj Mishra and state BJP Chief Surya Pratap Shahi lashed out at BSP government. BJP demanded that farmers who were killed in the agitation be accorded the status of martyr.

UP Congress president Rita Bahuguna Joshi at Lucknow termed state government’s new Land Acquisition Policy as fraud. She did not fail to mention that BJP’s pro farmer move is a mere political gimmick.
