New Delhi: The presence of array of celebrities on the occasion of 56th foundation day of Bhojpuri community at Talkatora Stadium on Saturday showcased the increasing influence of the language on the national and international level.

Adding cherry to the cream, renowned Bhojpuri singer and actor Manoj Tiwari enthralled the gathering with his foot-tapping hit ‘Hum Bihari Dilwa Ke Bholabhala.’ The song highlighted the mounting power of Bihar and the sweetness of Bhojpuri language.

The chief guest of the function and Bharatiya Janata Party MP Shatrughan Sinha and  former Assam Governor Bhishma Narayan Singh felicitated Dainik Jagran Chief General Manager, Nishikant Thakur, Manoj Tiwari and Raju Srivastava with‘Bhojpuri Gaurav Samman’for their outstanding contribution towards Bhojpuri.

Delhi Bhojpuri Samaj president Ajit Dubey said, “The community is striving hard to get the Bhojpuri language included in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution of India. The government should confer Padma Awards on Bhojpuri actors also.”

Echoing the same Sinha said, “We will try hard to get the Bhojpuri language included in the 8th Schedule.” The renowned actor termed Tiwari as the ‘Bhojpuri Samrat’.

Several prominent persons including Delhi Assembly Speaker Yoganand Shastri, Independent MP from Sivan Om Prakash Yadav, Balia MP Neeraj Shekhar, Jaunpur MP Dhanajay Singh, Congress leader Anil Shastri, BJP leader and wife of Darbhanga MP Kirti Azad, Dainik Jagran GM Arun Kumar Singh and former Health Minister of the Republic of Mauritius, Jagdish Govardhan attended the programme.
