Bhopal: The Bhopal city police arrested a youth for allegedly possessing the banned contraband, charas worth Rs one lakh which the accused had illegally brought to supply to his brother who was to be produced in the court in a murder case.

Acting on a tip-off that a person was selling charas outside the district court in Bhopal during Friday afternoon, the city police apprehended a 20 year old youth who was later identified as Shanu son of Sardar Ali from Quazi camp, Tilajamapura.

The police has also registered a case against Shanu under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

During interrogation, Shanu allegedly confessed that he had come to the court to supply the banned contraband to his brother, Kale, who was to be produced in the court in connection with the murder of his elder brother named Vasim.

Two cases including that of a loot at Tilajampura are registered against the accused. Meanwhile, the police is inquiring from where the accused had managed to get charas.
