The 13-member delegation is being led by the Speaker of Bhutan's National Assembly Jigme Zangpo.

During the four-day visit, the Parliamentarians will meet Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar and discuss issues of bilateral parliamentary cooperation.

The delegation, which will also meet with other high-ranking officials and members of Indian Parliament, is likely to call on Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari, according to a press release.

Further, as part of the study programme during the visit, the delegation will be acquainted with committee system, budgetary process and the legislative process of the Indian Parliament.

The Indian Parliament has been persistently rendering support in the human resource development of the Bhutanese Parliamentarians and officials through such visits and exchange programmes, the release said.
